Steal an egg, then finish the trip

Egg stealing sits second in the official loop. A longer listing splits the job into grab, escape, and return, and names five egg tiers.

In the current How to Play list, stealing eggs from guardians is step two, after a backflip reaches a new biome and before hatching.

The short rule and the longer one

The live sentence stops at "steal eggs from guardians." A longer recorded description is more specific:

  1. Take the egg from the animal holding it.
  2. Escape that powerful animal guardian.
  3. Bring the egg back to your base.

That longer text treats the escape and the trip home as part of the theft, not as optional flavor. Because the current official sentence does not repeat the escape or the base drop-off, confirm both the first time you pick an egg up. If the guardian chases, getting away is the recorded plan. The text does not say what a catch does, how fast a guardian moves, or a counter besides leaving.

Which eggs exist

The longer description names five stealable egg tiers, in this order: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. It attaches those words to eggs, not to a pet inventory tag. It also says higher stages hold rarer eggs, and that backflip progress is how you reach those stages.

The live How to Play text does not repeat the five names. If your build shows different labels, trust the label on the egg. There is no published per-biome egg table and no numeric power gate.

Guardians are not given species names. See what a guardian is before you plan around a specific animal.

After the egg is yours

Hatching is the next official step, and the longer text places it at your base. Continue with how hatching works.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Backflip for Animals! have a working code right now?

No code string for this place is confirmed. The current official How to Play text does not mention codes, and the code list on this site is empty on purpose.

Are Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic pet rarities?

Those five words are egg labels in a longer recorded description. The live How to Play line only calls the hatched animals rare pets, and says some of them are mutated. It does not print a pet-rarity ladder.

Does treadmill Speed make backflips higher?

The official list does not say that. Backflips are the step tied to new biomes. Speed is the stat tied to the treadmill. A separate recorded description says backflip power and jump height rise as you get stronger, still without naming Speed as the cause.

What is the difference between biomes and stages?

The current official text says backflip to reach new biomes. An older recorded wording says improved backflip power reaches new stages and that higher stages hold rarer eggs. Nothing published confirms they are two different maps. Use the label your session actually shows.

What does a mutated pet change?

The official line only says some hatched pets are mutated. It does not name mutation types, odds, or a stat change. A 29 September 2026 note about Update 2.5 said a new mutation was part of that event and left the rest as unknown.
